Jeffrey Wynne Design

Welcome

You're invited to see my work, arranged in five galleries on this website. The galleries represent a few samples of my work; much more is available through my exhibitions and trunk shows in San Diego.

My work encompasses image transfer photography - Egypt (Gallery 1), image transfer photography - Venice (Gallery 2)fine jewelry created from the very best of the riches of the land and sea (Gallery 3);  mixed media work (Gallery 4),  and public-policy mixed media work primarily on themes of social justice (Gallery 5).

My image transfer photographs (Galleries 1 and 2) are based on a chemical process of light/heat/pressure that I use to transfer images (from color-rich 35mm Kodakchrome slides that I've taken during my travels) onto tea-dyed silk and Arches hot press paper---the result: ghostly, intriguing images of people and places, including images of the icon-rich caves of Laos (caves that can be reached only by long boat up the Mekong River).

My fine jewelry (Gallery 3) includes rough cut and polished stones and minerals from throughout the world, with an emphasis on rare keishi pearls from the South Seas, turquoise from a unique mine in southern Nevada that still produces a small quantity of high-quality material, lapis lazuli from northwest Afghanistan, antique Ethiopian sterling, and amber beads that are centuries old and rarely available to the public.  Other materials that I use vary from black seed beads that I gathered during a trip down the Amazon river a few years ago, to loquat-colored antique japanese beads, to unusual pendents layered with tissue-thin mother-of-pearl.  All of my jewelry is one-of-a-kind. Custom orders are invited.

My mixed media work (Galleries 4 and 5) represents my thoughts and feelings---primarily about the arts (jazz) and social justice issues. I'm working on a new series of mixed media and acrylic work that will be available in the near future.

You're welcome to contact me regarding my periodic trunk shows. "Jeffrey Wynne Design : Trunk Shows'  featuring my collection of jewelry.  My trunk shows are held periodically at special events, private homes or other sites. They can include a brief presentation or discussion about the origins of the material I use in my work.  My trunk shows are available as a collaborative fund raising event or simply presented as an exhibition. Please call me for details at: (619) 318-4622; no obligation.

Again, welcome to my website.  I appreciate your interest in my work.  I look forward to speaking with you.
